From Fuel-Consumption Data to Vessel-Performance References
navIQore's fuel-curves module compares observed vessel behaviour against speed-power references — sea-trial curves, charter curves and the vessel's own history — to make efficiency deviations and retrofit impact visible.

navIQore introduces a fuel-curves and references module that lets a vessel's observed fuel consumption and engine performance be compared directly against established references, making meaningful deviations visible rather than buried in raw telemetry.
The module draws on the same dataset engine behind navIQore's export tool — raw and predicted speed over ground and through water, engine speed and power, and fuel consumption — across one or more vessels and one or more voyage periods, whether selected by date or by predefined voyage segment, so sister vessels can be compared side by side. Readings are plotted as a scatter chart of vessel or engine speed against engine power or fuel consumption, with fuel type and calorific value configurable so comparisons stay on a consistent energy basis.
Against that scatter, navIQore overlays reference curves: established speed-power curves for ballast and laden condition, sea-trial curves, a fouling-adjusted heavy-propeller curve, and simulated curves generated from digital-twin scenarios — each toggled independently through a dynamic legend, with zoom, pan and hover read-out of exact values at any point.
The result is a practical way to answer a recurring operational question: is this vessel performing as expected, and if not, by how much? That comparison supports evaluating actual efficiency against design or chartering expectations, tracking historical performance against predicted curves over time, visualising the impact of weather and operating condition, and giving chartering, maintenance and retrofit decisions a quantified reference rather than a rule of thumb.
