navIQore begins a new cooperation with Diana Shipping, extending the platform's operational footprint to another major dry-bulk fleet. The initial deployment, on one of Diana's vessels, focuses on fuel- and tank-monitoring data, extending navIQore's use into onboard inventory and consumption analysis.
Storage, settling and service tanks are monitored together with their temperatures, needed to convert measured volume into mass, with heel and trim correction applied using the vessel's own sounding tables. Two approaches to acquiring tank data were evaluated during integration: reading directly from the pressure sensors, and reading through the vessel's Alarm Monitoring System, which is itself connected to the tank-monitoring system. A hybrid method was ultimately chosen — tank levels and temperatures are acquired through the AMS, while trim, heel and draft come directly from their source sensors — combining the reliability of each path for the values it measures best.
The integration itself was carried out by the vessel's own crew, without a Konnecta engineer attending on board, and the results so far are promising. Beyond tank-level monitoring, the groundwork has also been laid to acquire torque-meter and navigational data, with that part of the integration expected to be completed remotely over the coming weeks, once a stable internet connection is established on board.
The remote, crew-led integration approach mirrors the deployment model behind navIQore's dedicated Fuel Tanks module, and this cooperation was one of the vessels that helped shape it.
